Gov Pawlenty's comment that, "I have great empathy for the sick." Is a flat out Political/Propaganda LIe. The MN Medical Marijuana Bill only covers those who are already terminally ill. That means he wants those of us, like me, who are not yet terminally ill to take legal prescriptions that will just give me another lifelong nervous disorder akin to Parkinson's. For example: I suffer from Diabetic Neuropathic Gastroparesis (paralyzed stomach.) Symptoms are; Chronic Nausea, Vomiting and Wasting Syndrome. My doctor gave me a prescription for Reglan/Metoclopramide, for chronic nausea and vomiting control. As he handed me the prescription my doctor said, "Do not take Reglan/Metoclopramide on a regular basis for it causes irreversible (that's lifelong friends) Parkinson like shakes and tremors which is a common side effect. Though rarer it also causes "Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome" which is fatal. If Marijuana had any type of negative side effect I would say keep it illegal. But the truth is Marijuana has no serious long term side effects, marijuana is non-toxic and non-addictive. If you want to get picky marijuana addiction is similar to caffiene addiction from coffee, soda, etc., This is a scientific/medically proven fact. Pawlenty will learn that it is not good politics to go against the people who elected him into office. The power of your vote is crucial in removing heartless, cruel and prejudice politicians like Pawlenty from office. Inhaled Cannabis Vapors gives safe, immediate, effective and efficient relief from nausea and vomiting, something which no other drug in today's pharmacopeoia can claim. Marijuana is so effective for nausea and vomiting control I, and many others, are willing to risk arrest, prosecution, imprisonment, forfeiture of property, money and government benefits simply to control my lifelong symptoms from Gastroparesis. There is a reason Pawlenty will veto the MN Medical Marijuana Bill and it has nothing to do with better healthcare, quality of life (for us that is) or the danger of sending the wrong message to our youth. I was raised that the truth should always be told, especially from our government to the people. Instead Harry Anslinger and William Randolf Hearst started "Reefer Madness" and a federal government fear and smear campaign against marijuana and its use which is still maintained today. What kind of government prohibits research into any drug that could improve its people's lives? Only one kind a "Facist Government." Hitler tried to prevent the German people from knowing truth by book burning, propaganda and lies of all kind. The U.S. politicians are not qualified to make medical decisions. The fact that they even prohibit the research of Medical Marijuana is because they know the truth. That, "Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest, most therapeutically active substances known to man. It would be arbitrary, unresaonable and capricious for the DEA to continue to stand between the benefits of the substance and the sufferer's."-Francis L. Young-DEA Chief Administrative Law Judge, 1988. Even Mary Ellen Bittner, Dea Chief Administrative Law Judge in 2007 said, "There is an inadequate and poor quality of Medical Marijuana for research, I therefore find that Respondent's registration, Prof Lyle Craker U. Mass., to cultivate marijuana would be in the public's interest." This is the second time the DEA has ignored the ruling of its Chief Administrative Law Judge. What kind of agency is the DEA anyway. Obviously it is an evil, corrupt governmental organization who over steps there authority and has been undermining California's 1996 Medical Marijuana Laws. Cannabis Sativa/Indica will eventually be totally legal as soon as the brainwashed "Reefer Madness" generation dies out. Which is happeneing even as we speak. Thank God.
